Ven. Thomas Gutherie

Venerable Thomas Gutherie

Ven. Thomas, was born as a sawmiller's son in rural Georgia and has lived in Colorado since 1994. He has enjoyed diverse life experiences such as playing high school football, managing restaurants in mountain resort communities and teaching at the University level. He began his study and practice of Buddhism in the late 90's and was ordained as a monastic in 2004.

Ven. Thomas feels wonderfully blessed to have connected with an authentic lineage of Buddhism. Regarding retreat, he quotes the rapper Coolio: "You can't help me if you can't help yourself..." adding "I am thrilled and humbled at the opportunity to join these wonderful people on this journey of personal development. I sincerely wish to be able to share any benefit I may receive with all beings."

Ven. Thomas wishes to thank his family, friends and entire community for their love, support and compassion. He pledges to work diligently to make the most of this precious opportunity for the benefit of all.
